History of Department:
The Department of Mathematical Cybernetics was founded in 2002.
From the moment of its establishment until 2013, the department functioned under the leadership of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vasily Tairyan.
Since 2013, the department has been headed by Dr. of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Rafik Aramyan.

Qualitative staff of the department:
The department consists of 24 employees, of which 5 are main, 19 are external part-timers.

Activities of the department:
The scientific activity of the department is based on the following areas:

  • Algebra and Geometry

International scientific relations, joint grants:
The department has established close relations with both Russian and Western scientific centers. In collaboration with the University of Texas at Arlington, West Virginia University (USA), issues related to spherical tomography, which forms the basis of medical diagnostics, are being studied. The direction of financial mathematics and econometrics is also associated with the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena and the University of Bern in Switzerland. In the field of algebra, the department closely cooperates with Russian universities, in particular with Moscow State University and with the Steklov Mathematical Institute in the Russian Academy of Sciences.
